Not bad! You got the line down and did a good job of being dynamic with it. The middle was a little bit mumbled but still pretty good, I think you'd fit the part of the characters well!

Happy

Sounds really cheerful to me! It actually reminds me of the old Kirby and the Crystal Shards N64 game in the first Autumn level. The melody instrument sounds great, like a vibraphone log drum mix thingy, it gives it that sort of earthy feel. Really outstanding work!

Hauntingly beautiful

This can't be a side project, it sounds way too good! I like the work you've done with the pads, then the fade into strings, all accompanying the little music box bell. It fits perfectly, and flows so smoothly! It sounds serious, but yet still has a calmness about it. Truly spectacular work!

HonorOfStyle responds:

Wow thanks! I hadn't realized it was that good!

Nice

I know what it's like to be new to FL studio and it ain't easy. It sounds like you got a good grip on the basics though. However, the drums feel a bit off compared to that bass line. They're fast, but it feels like they're missing something. The bass is good, a little strange in some parts but for the most part, not bad. I suggest just reworking the drums a bit to fit the song. Keep working on it, you'll get more and more experience with the more you use FL! It never hurts to watch some tutorials too, they might be a bit boring but they really help fast. Good work on the song, 4/5 and 7/10 :D

Genecros responds:

Yeah, I thought the same thing at times that the bassline didn't quite match up with the drums, but it is hard to place the sound clips in the EXACT place that you want them... I also believe that that needs some work too, especially at the beginning... also while I was making this, my headphones were not very powerful. Thanks for the review!

Super Mario Battle Sequence

Something about the title and the way this song is laid out makes me think of a badass looking super mario owning on the rainbow ride level from SM64. I like it, the beginning is a bit hoarse but when it gets chugging with that steady tempo it really sounds good. The random solo bits felt a bit offset to me, but as they progress in the song they start to become more natural. The ending has a nice kick to it, especially with the bass riff. Good work, keep it up!

Belgerum09 responds:

Thanks for the comment! I understand your distaste of the solo bits. I've been told I use diminished scales a bit much, and AI think it shows a bit too much in this. I might revise it a bit later. Also, just for the record, this isn't Mario. This is My Little Pony.

Excellent example of drum work

There isn't any need for a melody with this song, the drums do it all! I've tried with FL to make a serious drum beat like this and haven't found the right technique to get it like this. It's a bit repetitive, but that's a drum's job. This could really set a scene as a great background. The sound effects are premium as well, not too loud, authentic sounding, and they fit really well. You didn't overload the song with them either, which is nice. To me, this sounds like a Native American style of drumming, especially with the background flute every so often. Great job, this sounds amazing and has inspired me to try more drum songs.

Troisnyx responds:

Th... thank you! ^_^

I could suggest something - NG has a reserve of SF2 files in the Audio Portal, and all of them are very good. You do want to check them out. You could use this.
Alternatively, like what I did here, you could use only the Sampler plugin - all these drumbeats are samples.

I hope these tips help! And all the best with your drum pieces!

Intense!

It's not your average calm bell serenade, this has a sort of upbeat yet serious feel to it. The background strings/pad really gives some power while the layers of bells add a sort of light and airy feeling. However, I don't imagine a real calm winter snowfall, but rather a really action packed scene that would be right out of a movie. The way the notes ascend and descend sorta adds that tension, then when that pad comes in it adds more. Still, it is very beautiful and very well done!

Soothing

Nicely done! You really know how to put emotion and a story line into a song which is a great artistic quality. As a writer myself, I always enjoy a good story and the short one you have here is amazing. Great work!

FatKidWitAJetPak responds:

I love writing, I could have done a better job at writing to this though, but its all right. I think this is my best song so far.

Pro work here

Hey thanks for your review on my song but it ain't nearly as pro as this is :P This is so well organized and clean, the vocals aren't overpowering nor hard to hear, they're perfect. The beat is clear and concise very well done! Keep up the good work dude!

ERAmatica responds:

Hey thanks for hittin me back!! I really appreciate it and Im glad you liked the song!!

Nicely done

It's always great to find a song that reaches for emotion instead of quick beats and random techno crap. This is a prime example of one of those great songs, beautiful and so calm. Newgrounds needs more like this! Really great job keep up the good work!
